According to a new report, the AirPods Pro 2 could come with a long list of new features, including heart rate detection, the ability to function as a hearing aid, and a USB-C port.
The website 52Audio claimed, to have received new information about the AirPods Pro 2. Based on this, new renderings were also created. The AirPods Pro 2 look very similar to their predecessors and the AirPods 3 and still have a stem, contrary to what was previously claimed. Various sources have promised a stemless look here. While the AirPods Pro 2 look similar to their predecessors, 52Audio claims that there will be a long list of new features. We have already heard some of these rumors, and new details have also been added. Below is a list:

AirPods Pro 2 with hearing aid function?
- Updated H1 chip – The updated H1 chip is expected to feature an improved SiP packaging system and self-adaptive noise cancellation. It will also have better performance and higher power consumption.
- Find My – The AirPods Pro 2 are expected to support the Find My feature, which allows them to be located via the Find My app. Previous rumors suggested that the AirPods will have a speaker that will emit a sound if they are misplaced.
- Heart rate detection – There have been rumors of health sensors in the AirPods Pro before. 52Audio claims they will be able to detect heart rate through the ear.
- Temperature detection – The heart rate sensor could also support temperature detection. However, 52Audio says this could not be confirmed.
- Sound improvements – The AirPods Pro 2 will apparently have the same acoustics as the AirPods 3, with a “combination of custom-designed high-amplitude drive units and high dynamic range amplifiers.” Self-adaptive equalization, spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, and audio sharing will also be included.
- USB-C – Instead of Lightning, the AirPods Pro 2 could get a USB-C port. At this point it has been claimed that Apple will once again rely on Lightning.
- Hearing aid features – 52Audio claims that the AirPods Pro 2 will act as a hearing aid. Sound can supposedly be “collected through the charging case and transmitted to the earpiece for sound enhancement and playback” to help people with hearing loss better perceive sounds in the environment. The website suggests that what was previously described as a lanyard holder on the side of the AirPods Pro 2 is actually some sort of hearing aid feature, which sounds very questionable.
We have read a lot about most of these features in the past - but the hearing aid function is definitely new. There are also contradictions in the area of design. As mentioned above, some people claim that the new plugs could appear stemless.

As for the reliability of 52Audio, the following can be said. The website has a mediocre hit rate, so the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. (Photo by Eremin / Bigstockphoto)
