If you have duplicates in your Contacts app that you can't get to grips with, you can especially look forward to iOS 16.
The next iPhone update, iOS 16, includes a special duplicate contact merge feature that fixes multiple contact issues once and for all. If you have more than one contact card for the same person in the iOS 16 Contacts app, the app will automatically detect the duplicates and let you know that duplicates were found.
iOS 16 cleans up the Contacts app
The Duplicates Found interface is located at the bottom of the app. Tapping it allows the Contacts app to merge all duplicate contact cards into a single one. Previously, there was no way to quickly manage duplicate contacts in the iOS Contacts app, so the new feature in iOS 16 should be a relief for anyone struggling with contact issues. This feature existed on the Mac before, but it was not available on iOS devices. Whether your device is compatible with the new software, you can find out here. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
