Apple has now introduced its two new MacBook models, the next-generation MacBook Air and an updated MacBook Pro 13″. Both devices are equipped with the M2 chip.
The new MacBook Air design comes in silver, space gray, starlight, midnight, and gold. The previous teardrop wedge shape has been replaced with a simpler, flat-edged chassis. Just like the MacBook Pro 2021, the display has been moved closer to the edge with a notch. The Air is 11.3 mm thin, has a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID power button, and MagSafe for magnetically secure charging. Apple says the new MacBook Air can manage about 18 hours of continuous video playback on battery.
In a brand new design: The MacBook Air with M2 chip
The MacBook Air's screen has been enlarged to 13.6 inches thanks to slimmer bezels. There's a new 1080p webcam in the notch. The M2 chip is up to five times faster than last-generation Intel MacBook Airs and up to 40 times faster than 2020's M1 Air.

It also features a brand new charger with two USB-C ports. The MacBook Air can charge the battery up to 50 % in 30 minutes. The new device is a huge upgrade in every way - except for the price. The new Air starts at 1,499 euros, which is a bit more expensive than the previous generation. The device will be available in July.

Apple introduces new 13″ MacBook Pro
In addition to the MacBook Air, the entry-level MacBook Pro has also been updated. Unlike the models introduced in October, this one sticks to the design of the 2020 model, which means: Touch Bar, Thunderbolt ports and no notch. With the M2 chip, this MacBook Pro 40% is faster than its M1 counterpart. It supports up to 24 GB unified memory and up to 2 TB SSD. Apple promises a battery life of up to 20 hours. The M2 MacBook Pro has the same design as the 2020 model. It uses Thunderbolt ports and supports WiFi 6. Its 13-inch display offers a brightness of up to 500 nits. Since it has the same design, this means that this M2 MacBook Pro has an active cooling system that allows Pro users to take advantage of video and photo editing without the computer losing its performance. The computer will be available from July. (Image: Apple)
