Just a few weeks after the introduction of iOS 15.4 to all users, Apple has now released iOS 15.4.1. This small update brings bug fixes and security improvements for the iPhone and iPad.
Today's iOS build is 19E258. The update should be available in the next few minutes. You can update your iPhone or iPad by going to the Settings app, then General, then Software Update. This version follows the big iOS 15.4 update, which lets you unlock your iPhone with a mask, and much more.
iOS 15.4.1 fixes three problems
According to Apple's update description, the new version fixes an issue that could cause the battery to drain faster than expected after updating to iOS 15.4. Additionally, iOS 15.4.1 includes fixes for "Made for iPhone hearing aids and braille devices."
- Your battery may drain faster than expected after updating to iOS 15.4.
- Braille devices may stop responding when navigating through text or displaying a hint.
- “Made for iPhone” hearing aids may lose connection in some third-party apps.
Mac and HomePod: These problems have been fixed
In addition to iOS and iPadOS, tvOS 15.4.1, audioOS 15.4.1, watchOS 8.5.1 and macOS 12.3.1 have also been released. As for the HomePod update, Apple explains that a Siri issue has been fixed.
Software version 15.4.1 fixes an issue that causes some HomeKit-enabled accessories to not respond when controlled through Siri. This update also includes bug fixes for your HomePod.
A few issues have also been fixed in relation to macOS 12.3.1. For example, Apple states that macOS Monterey 12.3.1 fixes a bug that could cause Bluetooth controllers such as game controllers to disconnect from the Mac after playing audio through some Beats headphones. It also fixes a bug that could cause external USB-C or Thunderbolt displays to not turn on when connected as a second display to the 2018 Mac mini. (Photo by Nata Aleks NO WAR / Bigstockphoto)
