Apple today somewhat surprisingly announced new content for Apple Fitness+, including Collections and a “Time to Run” feature.
According to Apple, Fitness+ will be expanded as early as January 10. In the press release is called it:
Apple Fitness+, the first fitness and wellness service built on Apple Watch and designed for everyone, is introducing Collections and Time to Run on January 10. Collections are a curated collection of workouts and meditations in the Fitness+ library designed to help users reach a goal. Time to Run is an audio running experience designed to help users run more consistently and better, featuring popular running routes in some of the world's most iconic cities.
According to Apple, the following six collections will be available at launch:
- 30-day core challenge
- Improve your posture with Pilates
- Perfecting balance postures in yoga
- Complete the first 5,000-meter run
- Strengthen your back and stretch your hips
- Relax for a better sleep experience
Apple Fitness+ Time for Running: New episodes appear on Mondays
Time to Run is the first extension of the Time to Walk feature that Apple introduced last year. Apple describes Time to Run as "a new audio running experience designed to help users run more consistently and better, with each episode focusing on a popular running route in some of the most well-known and iconic locations." The feature will launch with three episodes from London, Brooklyn and Miami Beach.

Apple says a new episode will be released every week on Mondays. The company has also announced that it will expand its Artist Spotlight series on Apple Fitness+ with new workouts to music by Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Shakira and the Beatles. Apple Fitness+ is available as part of the Apple One subscription package or individually for €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year.
