At the end of August, we first reported that WhatsApp was working on a feature that would allow users to respond to individual messages with emojis. Now there is new news to report.
The “Reactions” function for WhatsApp is currently under development. The feature seems to work similarly to Facebook Messenger. It is possible to use any emoji to react to a message. In addition, such a reaction does not remain anonymous. Now WABetaInfo found outthat the new beta version of WhatsApp, 2.21.210.15, offers new options. Users can manage reaction notifications with new settings to disable them or change their sound.
WhatsApp Reactions: All emojis are supported
This allows users to be notified of new reactions, just like with messages and group notifications. Side note: Although WhatsApp is working on this feature, "Reactions" are not yet available to public beta testers. According to WABetaInfo, individual messages can receive an infinite number of reactions. However, they are no longer counted once they reach 999. In addition, everyone should be aware that such a reaction does not remain anonymous within a group chat. This means that all group members can see which emoji someone used to react to a particular message. It is currently unknown when the feature will be available to all users.
