Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 7 yesterday evening and significantly updated its range of accessories. From now on, there is a new USB-C charging cable available for the Apple Watch.
When announcing the Apple Watch Series 7, Apple said it would charge faster and would also use a new charging cable. The magnetic puck that attaches to the watch remains the same. But the connector on the other end of the cable now uses USB-C instead of USB-A. Lauren Braun, Apple Watch Product Manager, explained:
Charging Apple Watch with USB-C cable: Now possible
Apple Watch Series 7 charges up to 33% faster than Series 6, with an updated charging architecture and a new USB-C fast-charging cable.
The new Series 7 is required for the full, faster charging time, but the cable itself can be used with any previous Apple Watch. Although the Apple Watch Series 7 itself is not yet available in the Apple Store, the new charging cable is already availableAnyone who wants to purchase the accessories will have to pay a total of 35 euros.
