Apple released a new AirTag firmware last week. Now the company has provided a revised version.
On August 26, Apple officially released the 1.0.291 firmware with the build number 1A291a publishedThe company has now rolled out a revised version with the internal identifier 1A291c. It is not yet known what new features the update contains. However, it is suspected that the new AirTag firmware should fix bugs and improve performance.
AirTag Firmware: Over-the-Air Update

Regarding the update itself, there is no way to force an AirTag update as it is something that happens over-the-air through a connected iPhone.
