Apple has already introduced a few interesting products this year. In addition to a brand new 24" iMac, revised iPad Pro models, a new Apple TV and AirTags were unveiled. But which products will Apple introduce this fall? Below is a list.
Rumors about iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch and Macs have been with us for many months. According to various reports, some of these products are due to be released in the next few months. Based on this, we have now created an overview. Apple's last event was the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, which focused on upcoming updates for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, macOS and watchOS. Before that, the first event of 2021 took place on April 20, which focused on new hardware. Products such as the M1 iPad Pro, an iMac and more were unveiled. Due to the global health crisis, both 2021 and all 2020 events were held virtually online. Under normal circumstances, Apple would certainly have held live events at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park. It is therefore safe to assume that Apple will also hold purely online events this fall.
iPhone 13 Apple Event
As many of you know, Apple usually launches new iPhone models in September. Last year, however, the iPhone event was held in October. The postponement was due to the global health crisis. This year, however, is different. According to various reports, there are no extreme delays in the supply chain, which means Apple can deliver at the usual time. As a reminder, Apple last launched its flagship iPhone in September 2019, with an event at Apple Park on September 10. Apple tends to hold its events on Tuesdays. organizeto give product announcement attendees enough time to travel to California. But even now that digital events don't require such travel, the company is sticking with its Tuesday preference.
Will Apple introduce five new products in September?
For this reason, it can be assumed that the iPhone 13 will be unveiled on a Tuesday. This year, the options are September 7th, 14th, 21st, or 28th, 2021. Since Apple has usually taken the stage in the middle of the month in the past, September 14th is considered a particularly hot date this year. Of course, things could turn out differently - after all, this is speculation based on data from the past. But what can we expect on that evening in September? According to the rumor mill, five new products are expected to be unveiled. Below is a list:
- iPhone – Four models are expected in the iPhone range: iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The innovations reportedly include significant new camera features, more advanced displays, improved performance, battery life and minor hardware changes.
- Apple Watch – Of course, Apple will also be updating its smartwatch range this year. The Apple Watch Series 7 is expected. The new generation could have a new design or case with flat edges. In addition to narrower display edges, more advanced health functions are also to be integrated.
- In addition to new iPhone and Apple Watch models, Apple will reportedly also introduce the third generation of AirPods. The new standard AirPods could feature a design more reminiscent of the AirPods Pro, silicone ear tips, a redesigned charging case and improved connectivity.
- iPad mini 6 & iPad 9 – If current rumors are to be believed, Apple will also present two new iPad models at the September event. While the iPad 9 is expected to receive a smaller update, the iPad mini 6 is expected to have a brand new design with more functions. The device is expected to be similar to the iPad Air 4 and iPad Pro and will have USB-C and a Smart Connector.
In addition to the products mentioned above, new Apple Silicon Macs are also expected. However, an introduction of these devices in September is considered rather unlikely.
MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon Chip
New iPhones usually dominate the rumor mill. But this year, new MacBook Pros have countered this. There have been repeated reports of a new design, the use of a new display technology - mini-LEDs - and more. Specifically, a brand new MacBook Pro is expected in 14- and 16-inch sizes. It is also said to have a next-generation Apple Silicon chip and significantly more ports. In addition, Apple is said to be ditching the Touch Bar in favor of physical buttons. While Apple unveiled new Mac devices in November last year, this year it is expected that the company will take the stage again in October. This event will probably focus on the Mac division and feature new MacBook Pro models. The following dates are available:
- on Tuesday, October 5th
- on Tuesday, October 12th
- on Tuesday, October 19th
- on Tuesday, October 26th
Based on past experience, the middle/end of the month is more realistic. Of course, November is not completely out of the question.
One more thing?
While Apple hosted a total of three online events in the fall last year, some fans are now wondering whether Apple is planning more than two events this year. Based on the reporting so far in 2021, Apple seems to be planning fewer hardware updates this year. For this reason, it is not expected that Apple will hold a third virtual event. Of course, we are not completely ruling it out - but a "surprise" is considered rather unlikely. All in all, it remains to be seen what we will actually see in the end. But based on everything we know so far, the fall should still be exciting. (Image: rendersbyian)
