As part of the “Spring Loaded” event, Apple has finally introduced its small tracker called AirTag.
Where is my keychain? Where is my handbag? Where is my laptop bag - and where is my jacket again? For heaven's sake - where is my wallet? Many people know it - important things are quickly misplaced and the search begins, preferably within their own four walls. Now Apple is providing an attractive solution. AirTags were first discovered in the iOS code in summer 2019. Since then, we have been accompanied by various leaks and rumors about the small trackers. Now the time has finally come. Apple has unveiled the latest accessory - the AirTags. But wait STOP - back to the beginning.

What exactly are AirTags?
Apple's AirTags are small trackers that can be attached to various objects. This accessory is by no means a new invention. But Apple will market them as a useful accessory - so they should have more to offer than competing products such as Tile or Adero - at least on a design level. The biggest advantage is probably the deep integration into Apple devices. This makes management much easier. Whether macOS, iOS or iPadOS - the "Find My" app is available on all three systems and serves as a central location for important objects. Apple advertises the whole thing as follows:
Apple today introduced AirTag, a small and stylish accessory that helps track and find the items that matter most using Apple's Find My app. Whether attached to a purse, keys, backpack, or other item, AirTag taps into the vast, global Find My network and can help locate a lost item while keeping location data private and anonymous with end-to-end encryption.
AirTags boast privacy and security features
The new accessories can be purchased in single and four-packs for just $29 and $99 respectively and will be available starting Friday, April 30. Apple's Vice President of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, Kaiann Drance, commented:
We're excited to bring iPhone users this incredible new capability with the launch of AirTag, which leverages the vast Find My network to help them keep track of and find the important things in their lives. With its design, unparalleled finding experience, and built-in privacy and security features, AirTag will give customers another way to leverage the power of the Apple ecosystem and extend the versatility of iPhone.
