As expected, Apple has introduced the new Apple Watch Series 4. The 4th generation of the Apple Watch comes with a redesign. It is also worth noting that the Apple Watch is the best-selling watch in the world.

Jeff Williams has introduced the next generation of the popular computer watch. It has a lot to offer. Despite the larger display, the straps of the previous models are compatible.

The display

In addition to the larger display, the resolution has also been improved. This is now 384 x 480 pixels. The 4th generation models come with 40mm and 44mm display diagonals. The watch itself has retained its size, so all previous straps are still compatible. The larger screen was made possible by new display technology. The Apple Watch Series 4 is also thinner than its predecessor.
New watch faces with up to eight complications are also included.

Revised housing

There will be six different models - the Watch Edition is no longer available this year. The ceramic version, which costs 1,400 euros, will no longer be available in the 4th generation. The reason for this could have been a lack of interest in the model. However, ceramic is not being completely eliminated. The underside of all models is made of ceramic. Previously, Apple used plastic for this.

The crown and speakers

As has already been announced through rumors, the Apple Watch will be getting another microphone or speaker. This will be installed between the button and the digital crown. The speakers have also been redesigned - they are now 50% louder than their predecessors. There is also the redesigned crown. This can enter the ring with haptic feedback. The most important thing: the controversial red dot on the LTE version is now history, and is replaced by a red ring.

processor and sensors

The Apple Watch Series 4 has the S4 chip with 64-bit built in. This is 2x faster than the S3 chip. In addition, the acceleration sensor has been extremely redesigned. It can now detect when a user falls. If the user then becomes motionless, the Apple Watch makes an emergency call including location. The Apple Watch Series 4 can also now take ECGs. The smartwatch would also automatically detect and report problems with the heartbeat. It has Bluetooth 5.0. The battery life is up to 18 hours - six hours of active workout is possible.

Prices and availability

The new Apple Watch Series 4 models can officially be pre-ordered from September 14th. Delivery will begin on September 21st. The 40mm starts at 429 euros and the 44mm starts at 459 euros.
The starting price for an LTE version is 530 euros.
