Rumors about the iPhone 2021 series appear regularly. Now the reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out and given some details about the specifications.
According to the accurate analyst, all four iPhone 2021 devices will have a smaller notch. While the two cheaper models will get the normal OLED display, the Pro versions will be equipped with the energy-saving LTPO display technology. This will enable a refresh rate of 120Hz, which has been discussed for months. According to Kuo, the new generation will consist of four models, as in 2020.
iPhone 2021: Better camera & more battery life
This means that every iPhone 12 model will have a direct successor. While some things will change inside, the casing will remain the same. In terms of connection, all devices will use the Lightning port this year. A portless device will therefore not be introduced this year. In addition, the new iPhone models will have Qualcomm's Snapdragon X60, which offers several 5G network improvements. In addition, Apple to extend the sensor-shift image stabilization introduced in the iPhone 12 Pro Max to the entire lineup. The battery will also undergo another change. All four models will receive a larger battery. The implementation will be made possible by a space-saving design decision. To be precise, Apple plans to integrate the SIM card slot into the mainboard. Furthermore, as explained above, the notch will be made smaller for the first time. By saving space on both components, more space will be freed up, which can be used for a larger battery.
Third generation iPhone SE will be released later
In addition to the iPhone 2021 series, Kuo also commented on the next iPhone SE. According to his sources, no new device will be introduced this year. Previous rumors have suggested the third generation iPhone SE for 2021. According to Kuo, the device will probably be presented in the first half of 2022. It is expected to have a faster chip and 5G support. However, the analyst did not provide any further details. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
