Rumors about the next iPhone generation are now regularly documented. Now there is a new report regarding the camera system.
Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has published a new report regarding the iPhone 2021 lineup, claiming that all iPhone models in fall 2021 will receive the sensor-shift camera stabilization found in the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The report is called it:
Apple's next-generation iPhones, due out in the second half of 2021, will all feature sensor-shift stabilization technology.
Korean publication ETNews published a similar report earlier this week, claiming that at least two iPhone 13 / iPhone 12S models will feature sensor-shift stabilization, with LG Innotek remaining the supplier of the necessary components.
iPhone 2021: More camera upgrades to be expected?
Sensor-shift optical image stabilization was first introduced in the iPhone 12 Pro Max's wide-angle lens. The technology stabilizes the camera's sensor instead of the lens for significantly better image stabilization and improved photo quality. It remains to be seen whether Apple will actually extend the feature to all iPhone 2021 cameras. On Apple's website, the feature is highlighted as follows:
Until now, sensor-shift stabilization was only available on DSLR cameras, but this is the first time it's been adapted for the iPhone. Whether you're shooting video of your kids chasing them around the park or holding your iPhone out the window on a bumpy road, you'll get more precise stabilization than ever before.
Earlier this month, DigiTimes reportedthat Apple is reportedly planning to add the LiDAR scanner to the entire iPhone 2021 range. However, it remains to be seen whether the news site will be right in the end. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
