Rumors about a new iPad Pro generation have been circulating for months. Now a new report confirms previous rumors about the launch.
The Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has again confirmed earlier reports affirmedthat Apple plans to introduce at least one new iPad Pro model soon. It will use a MiniLED panel.
Some observers pointed out that since Apple is expected to introduce a mini-LED-backlit iPad Pro in the first quarter of 2021 and many other manufacturers will also launch mini-LED-backlit devices in 2021, Macroblock will begin shipping small quantities of mini-LED driver ICs in the first half of 2021 through cooperation with private label suppliers and panel manufacturers, and shipments are expected to increase significantly in the second half of the year.
The report notes that supplier Macroblock has entered the manufacturing of RGB fine-pitch mini-LED display modules and that the company is expected to benefit from several mini-LED devices that will be released later in 2021.
iPad Pro: Virtual Apple Event on March 16?
It was also noted that Apple will most likely update the iPad Pro series in the first quarter of 2021. But unlike previous rumors, which only focused on a 12.9-inch model, DigiTimes now explained that an 11-inch model will probably also be included. I already explained some time ago that it would be very unusual if Apple only updated the 12.9-inch model. It can therefore be assumed that Apple will update the entire iPad Pro series, which consists of two sizes. In autumn 2020, rumoredthat Apple might hold a virtual event on March 16. Whether the report at the time will ultimately prove correct remains to be seen. (Photo by Vladimka / Bigstockphoto)
