Apple has announced the winners of the “App Store Best” 2020 in a press release and honored the best apps and games.
Every year, Apple awards the best applications and games on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. This is what the press release:
Apple today announced the winners of the App Store Best of 2020, recognizing 15 apps and games that have proven essential this year to making life simpler, healthier, and more connected. These apps and games are distinguished by their high quality, creative design, ease of use, and innovative technology, and are equally celebrated for their positive cultural impact, helpfulness, and relevance.

These are the best apps of 2020
Wakeout! was voted the best iPhone app of 2020, created by independent developer Andres Canella. The app brings quick and easy exercises that can be done by anyone in home offices and classrooms.
The popular ZOOM video chat app was named the best iPad app of 2020 for enabling students from all over the world to continue learning from home during the pandemic. ZOOM was also the most downloaded free app on the App Store in 2020.
For Mac, Fantastical was voted the best app of 2020 available on the App Store by Flexibits. The application is a popular calendar alternative for macOS users, offering advanced features for managing meetings, tasks, and synchronizing between different platforms.
Disney+ won the award for Apple TV App of the Year, while Endel – an app designed to help users focus, relax and sleep – was named the best app of 2020 for Apple Watch.

These are the best games of 2020
Apple has another category in its annual awards dedicated to games available on the App Store. This year, the open-world game Genshin Impact was chosen as the best iPhone game. For the iPad, Apple chose Legends of Runeterra by Riot Games as the game of the year.
Disco Elysium, a detective role-playing game, was voted Game of the Year for Mac - considering only games available on the Mac App Store. Also, Dandara Trials of Fear for Apple TV was voted Game of the Year. Developed by a Brazilian studio, Dandara Trials of Fear brings several challenges in a 2D universe.
Apple also chose the best game available on Apple Arcade. Sneaky Sasquatch was the pick for 2020. The game was released last year and allows players to "live the life of a Bigfoot" by walking through campgrounds, eating food from coolers of picnic baskets, fishing at the lake, and more.

In addition to the best apps and games of 2020 for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and Mac, Apple also highlighted some other great applications available on the App Store. These include Shine, Explain Everything Whiteboard, Caribu, Pokémon GO, and ShareTheMeal. On the App Store Today tab, users will also find two lists of the best apps and games of 2020 - with ZOOM, TikTok, Among Us, and Call of Duty: Mobile topping the rankings.
