The well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported this summer that Apple could install periscope lenses in future iPhone models. These offer up to 10x optical zoom without having to change the camera module. This means that iPhones do not necessarily have to be thicker. According to Kuo, the whole thing could be ready as early as 2022. Now the Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has commented on this and supported Kuo's statement. Integration into iPhone 2022 more likely
The next iPhone could include a periscope lens from Samsung.
Digitimes has reported that Apple plans to improve the camera setup of its next devices by improving the zoom capability.
However, it seems that instead of developing this functionality on its own, Apple is looking to partner with South Korean companies to make it happen. And while nothing is finalized yet, Apple may use a periscope lens from Samsung.

For this reason, Kuo's prediction may ultimately be correct. Currently, rumors point to a revision of the display technology.
