As expected, Apple has unveiled the HomePod mini at the Hi, Speed event presentedThe inexpensive smart speaker is also intended to appeal to price-conscious users. But can the HomePod mini be paired with the HomePod?
After Apple introduced the small smart speaker, many fans asked themselves whether the mini version of the Siri speaker can be paired with the classic model. The answer is no. The HomePod mini and HomePod cannot be used as a stereo pair. This means that anyone who wants to use Apple's speakers as a stereo pair needs two devices of the same version. But be careful - this does not mean that both versions of Apple's speakers do not work together. Of course, users can listen to music on both devices - including the brand new intercom function is of course supported across devices.

Classic HomePod receives home theater experience update
Many features that Apple offers with the small smart speaker presented are of course also supported by the classic HomePod - except for the fact with the U1 chip. Both models will also receive support for third-party music services - such as Spotify. But the classic HomePod is getting an exclusive function. The large smart speaker can simulate an impressive home cinema experience in combination with the Apple TV 4K. It doesn't matter whether it's used as a stereo pair or solo, although the former is of course a bit better. The feature requires support for surround sound, which only the large HomePod offers. So anyone who has such a setup can look forward to exciting movie nights. Have you seen it yet? Amazon Prime Day 2020 (13 & 14 October) has started.
