While fans wait for the official presentation of the iPhone 12 series, an analyst has now commented on the topics of the iPhone 13 and the third generation iPhone SE.
There have been reports about the iPhone 12 series since summer 2019 - now everything seems to be known, but there is basically no official confirmation. If the rumors turn out to be true, which is likely, the new iPhone models will not have ProMotion displays. But that is set to change next year. Display analyst Ross Young has confirmed an earlier forecast and provided further details.
iPhone 13: New design is not expected
We are talking about the iPhone 12 successor – the device is currently referred to as the iPhone 13, the name is just a placeholder. It is to be assumed that it will be an iPhone 12S – but let's stick with the fancy thirteen for now. But let's get back to the latest information. Young continues to claim that Apple will bring ProMotion technology into play next year. Specifically, four devices are expected again. This means that next year Apple will again introduce two iPhone Pro models in sizes 6.1 and 6.7 inches, as well as a normal iPhone with 6.1 inches and the iPhone mini with 5.4 inches. However, there will be no significant design changes. This means that the Devices will look similar to this year's iPhone 12 series on the outside. But there will be a lot of changes on the inside.
iPhone 13: Significant camera improvements
The Pro versions will most likely have ProMotion panels that allow variable refresh rates of up to 120 Hz. The devices will also have integrated touch technology, which will make the display panels thinner. The plan is to use the corresponding components from LG Displays and Samsung (Y-Octa technology). But the most important innovation is the switch to ProMotion technology - according to the analyst. Furthermore, the cheaper iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models will have the same camera sensors as the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, it is not known whether these will also get the LiDAR scanner in addition to the triple camera. But the bottom line is that the cheaper models will also receive a significant camera improvement next year. The analyst further explained that the two iPhone 13 models may receive 5G connectivity below 6 GHz, while the Pro models will have two versions and thus be more flexible – mmWave and sub-6HGz.

iPhone SE 3 – Lots of new features but not before 2022
In addition to the so-called iPhone 13, Young also claims to have learned new details about the iPhone SE 3. The device is said to have a 6.1-inch screen and an LCD panel. The device will have 5G connectivity, Touch ID in the standby switch and a dual camera. Due to the repositioning of the Touch ID sensor, the device will probably have the look of the iPhone 11 and thus no longer have a home button. This step seems quite realistic, as Apple has already done the whole thing with the iPad Air 4. But anyone hoping for the improved entry-level device should be warned. According to Young, Apple will not present the brand new iPhone SE until spring 2022. (Photo by ADCstock / Bigstockphoto)
