Where are the AirTags? Rumors and leaks about Apple's upcoming tracker have already been documented several times. But so far there is no trace of the new accessories from Cupertino. Now there is a new report that sheds light on the whole thing.

The AirTags were first discovered in the iOS 13 code last summer. Since the first discovery, there have been countless reports from suppliers, clues in the iOS code and leaks from Apple itself. The little things were originally supposed to be presented at the beginning of the year, but the COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately got in the way - according to observers. Now the Japanese Apple wants blog Macotakara has learned new details. According to this, Apple could present the AirTags together with the iPhone 12 in the second half of October. The article states:

According to Chinese suppliers, Apple seems to be preparing to announce the AirTag at the iPhone 12 series, Apple Watch Series 6 online event, which is scheduled to take place in the second half of October 2020.

The report also examines the range of functions of the small trackers. According to it, they should be compatible with the App Clips introduced in iOS 14. App Clips are a mini version of an app that allows a specific function to be performed.

So when will the AirTags actually be introduced?

In addition, third-party tracking applications should also be able to interact with the AirTags. The NFC interface serves as the basis for this. Although Macotakara believes that the iPhone 12 online keynote will take place in the second half of October, it is not impossible that the show will be held in September. At least that is what rumors have suggested. If you believe these, Apple will debut the cheaper iPhone 12 models in October, while the Pro versions will be available from November. Since the AirTags have been expected for over a year, they should now actually be ready in the fall - whether in September, October or November.
