The streaming service Spotify has published two new charts related to podcasts. Specifically, they are top podcast and trending podcast charts.
Spotify has launched new charts for podcasts. These are intended to show both top podcasts and trending podcasts and thus help users find new content. This is stated in the press release:
The charts - which launch today in 26 markets on Spotify Mobile (iOS and Android) - will not only inform users about what's trending for podcasts, but will also list the overall most popular shows in your area based on recent listener numbers. Whether you're looking for a tried-and-true favorite or the latest show your peers are obsessed with, you can be sure that these charts will help you discover all of them.

While the Top Podcasts chart lists the 200 most popular shows in the selected region or category, the Trending Podcasts chart reveals the 50 fastest-rising shows. It continues:
Certain markets, including Brazil, Australia, Germany, Mexico, Sweden, the UK and the US, dig deeper into the podcast data and separate the top podcasts by category, so if you're a true crime lover or want more health and wellness content, you can see which podcasts are making a splash for that genre.
In addition to introducing these new charts, Spotify has also introduced improvements for podcasters. This means that content creators will receive a notification on their dashboard when their podcast is listed in the charts. They can then share their success on social media using their own graphic.
