When will the iPhone 12 series really debut? This is the question many fans are asking themselves. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, Apple's development progress was massively delayed. Now there is a new report on the subject.
The Japanese news site Nikkei Asian Review is currently reporting on Apple's efforts to reduce delays as much as possible. These are currently said to be between four weeks and two months in the area of mass production. The reason for this is, among other things, the closure of the factories at the beginning of the year. The report:
As it stands, there is a months-long delay in mass production, but Apple is doing everything it can to shorten the delay. There is a chance the schedule can still be brought forward," a source told Nikkei. "Some final iPhone assembly could be pushed back to early October, and it would not be surprising if there were further delays as many tests are still ongoing and the final designs are not yet finalized," the person said.
Delayed launch of iPhone 12 devices possible
According to the report, Apple's aggressive approach has secured the market launch this year. However, a punctual launch in September is not expected at the moment. The statements are in line with some earlier reports. However, no specific time frame is given. The suspicion that the four new devices will appear at different times in the fall remains. Both Bloomberg and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have already expressed this several times. A total of four models in sizes 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7 inches are expected. If the rumors are true, this year's iPhone line-up would be as follows:
- iPhone 12 – 5.4-inch display with OLED Super Retina; 4 GB RAM; storage capacities of 128 and 256 GB; aluminum body; dual camera; prices 649 & 749 US dollars;
