Currently, the new MacBook Pro is crashing for a small number of users. The T2 chip installed in it seems to be responsible for this.
The published crash logs of affected users mention BridgeOS. This is the device firmware on the logic board - it controls some functions - including the T2 chip. Among other things, it is responsible for managing the SSD, encryption and the "Hey Siri" function. It also stores the biometric data from Touch ID. This chip is also installed in the iMac Pro - this device has also suffered from such crashes.
Apple was quick to comment on the issue to US media. The company explained that only a small group of users were affected, but that it was nevertheless investigating the matter and checking current reports of unexpected system crashes.
