The rumors surrounding the iPhone 12 reached their peak when the supposed prices were revealed by a leaker. But when exactly will the devices launch?
Apple traditionally introduces new iPhone devices in September. With a few exceptions, these go on sale two weeks later. But this year there will be a delayed market launch - the reason is the global COVID-19 pandemic. This has hindered the completion of the design phase because Apple engineers could not travel to China. Now a major iPhone supplier has indicated delays to investors. Bloomberg:
When will the iPhone 12 be unveiled?
Broadcom Inc., a major supplier to Apple Inc., hinted that the latest iPhones will be released later than usual this year.
Broadcom Chief Executive Officer Hock Tan discussed a "major product cycle delay" at a "large North American handset" customer during an earnings call with analysts on Thursday.
Tan often refers to Apple in this way. This time, the executive said the delay means the surge in wireless revenue that Broadcom experienced will come a quarter later than usual this year.
Specifically, the increase is not expected until the fourth quarter. The statement confirms previous reports and leaks that Apple will not release the iPhone 12 series before October. Some observers now believe that Apple will not hold the presentation until the 10th month and not in September. Whether they are correct in their assessments remains to be seen, of course - but one thing is clear: a delay is no longer averted. (Photo by New Africa / Bigstockphoto)
