While rumors surrounding the iPhone 12 hardly offer any surprises, the rumor mill seems to be focusing on the iPhone 2021. Now mockups have surfaced that are supposed to show the supposed iPhone 13 or iPhone 12S.
In recent days and weeks, reports about the iPhone 2021 – or iPhone 13, as many call it – have increased. While the Connection, the camera and recently also about the display As was already speculated, 3D mockups have now appeared that are allegedly based on leaked information. The images come from the Japanese Apple Blog Mac Otakara. What you see is a 5.5-inch device that is supposed to be the successor to the upcoming 5.4-inch iPhone 12. The minimal increase in size is due to a certain design change. As you can see, the notch is missing. The TrueDepth camera appears to be integrated directly under the display. The use of Samsung's under-panel sensor technology could make the whole thing possible. But where does the information come from? Specifically, "Alibaba sources" were given. However, there are no details, which is why verification or comparison is not possible.
The charging port raises questions
Aside from the lack of a notch, the device also appears to have ultra-thin edges. But one feature doesn't fit with current rumors at all - the port. There have been reports since last year that Apple could introduce the iPhone in 2021 without a charging port at all, as switching to USB-C is apparently not up for debate. The whole thing was only recently examined in more detail for the first time. A leaker claimed that the iPhone 13 or iPhone 12S will use a Smart Connector instead of a Lightning port. However, these mockups show a USB-C input.
iPhone 13: Far too early for a review
Since this is supposedly an early prototype, there will certainly be some changes over the next few months. But it is important to note that the authenticity cannot be confirmed conclusively - apart from that, prototypes change during development. Therefore, the whole thing should be viewed with skepticism. It is simply far too early to properly evaluate such rumors. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – now available for 228 euros.
