Apple launched the iPad Pro series in March 2020 updated and made minimal changes - the main innovation is a new camera with a LiDAR scanner. Now there are rumors that a major update is due in early 2021.
The anonymous but also accurate Twitter account @L0vetodream confirmed details in a tweet that Apple will introduce new iPad Pro models in the first half of 2021. The devices are said to have Qualcomm's Snapdragon X55 modem and thus support 5G. They will work with both mmWave and sub-6GHz. Note: Although sub-6 GHz is slower than mmWave 5G technology, it has a greater range - suitable for rural areas. Since mmWave is faster but has a shorter range, this technology is more intended for large cities or urban areas.

The same X55 modem is reportedly also being used in the iPhone 12 series. In addition to 5G, the new iPad Pro series will receive the A14X chip and have a miniLED display. The use of miniLED technology would also enable a flatter design, so it cannot be ruled out that the new tablet series will receive a modified housing. Originally, some sources claimed that the iPad Pro update in this form could still take place at the end of 2020. But these reports have since been corrected. Since the latest update is actually a minor update was, it can be assumed that Apple is now preparing a comprehensive update of the professional tablet series. At the moment there is no reason to doubt @L0vetodream's statements, as he already stands out with an excellent success rate in this area.
