The Japanese blog Macotacara claims to have received new information about Apple’s new charging adapter from a supplier.
Almost every new rumor suggests that Apple will probably introduce three new iPhones this year. These say, among other things, that there will be two OLED models, each with 5.8" and 6.5", and an LCD device with 6.1" will also be released. All three iPhones will be equipped with Face ID and will come with the same power adapter.
18-watt USB-C power supply instead of the previous 5-watt charger
The first rumors were already in spring. Now Macotacara have learned that the faster charger will initially only be available in combination with the new iPhones. This means that if you buy a model from the new iPhone series, the power adapter will be included. Separate availability is only planned at a later date. The Japanese blog is said to have received this information from a Chinese supplier. The source is not named, presumably for protection reasons. Possible examples include Flextronics, Delta Electronics, Lite-On Technology and Artesyn as well as other companies that produce for Apple.
Will the Lightning connector remain?
Either way, the new power adapter will probably be a box office hit. Now one big question remains. Will the new iPhones keep their Lightning input or get a USB-C port?
