For months there have been reports that Apple is planning to introduce a cheaper iPhone – now there are indications that the alleged iPhone 9 could also be released as a Plus version.
The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced a new entry-level iPhone a few months ago - the alleged iPhone 9, also known as the iPhone SE 2. At the time, however, he also claimed to have heard about a Plus version that could follow in 2021. But according to a new leak, the iPhone 9 could be presented in both versions soon. The US blog 9to5mac has discovered a hint in the iOS 14 code that refers to a new 5.5-inch iPhone. This device is also said to have an A13 chip. This means it is the iPhone 9 Plus. The iOS 14 code also confirms that the device will be equipped with an LCD screen and Touch ID. Since Apple obviously wants to replace the eighth-generation iPhone and not the iPhone SE, the idea of a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch device would make sense.
Four iPad Pro models discovered
Observers believe that Apple primarily wants to appeal to iPhone 6 users, as this device series is already outdated and no longer supports iOS 13. In the course of this discovery, further devices were discovered in the iOS 14 code. According to this, there are said to be four iPad Pro models with the designations J417, J418, J420 and J421. According to 9to5mac, these are probably the Wi-Fi and cellular versions of the 11- and 12.9-inch models. The presentation of the new iPad Pro and iPhone 9 models could take place shortly. However, it is not yet certain whether the iPhone 9 will actually be presented under this name. You can find more iOS 14 leaks here. (Photo by Yastremska / Bigstockphoto)
